Motivation and Management

“Management is nothing more than motivating other people.” Lee Iacocca

People have a desire to be valued honestly without ulterior motives. A leader must have honorable traits and characteristics with genuine business acumen and love of people. Without the leader exhibiting daily admirable traits, motivation does not work. The truth in character always comes to light. When a good, honest leader motivates by recognition, empowerment to lead, fostering trust, and radiating energy, then people have an atmosphere that fosters innovation and creativity. Transparency and fairness build trust. It is impossible to produce good work when the management team is dishonest. No amount of sugar-coated please and thank you will create a good work product and trust among the ranks. It is a two-way street and if anyone is working under or with poor management, speak up and push forward. Do not sell out for money, sometimes this opens the door for creativity and challenge until another opportunity presents itself. Dream big and work hard towards an ethical and honest goal.
